Benefits of Alkaline Water
11 August, 2019PH and Health
11 August, 2019The term comes from the acronym Hydrogen Potential, which in a water sample is a measure of the concentration of hydrogen ions. The higher the pH, the less free hydrogen ions it has. For example, there are 10 times more hydrogen ions available at a pH of 7 than at a pH of 8. The pH scale ranges from 0 to 14. A pH of 7 is considered neutral. Substances with pH less than 7 are acidic; substances with pH greater than 7 are basic.
In the human body, the pH of body fluids such as saliva, urine, blood, sweat, extra and intra cellular fluid can be measured and thus determine how healthy we can be.
Importance of pH for health
Good health depends to a great extent on the acid-alkaline balance of our organism. Not only for our health at all levels, but also to delay aging.
As Albert Sent.-Gyögyi said: “The body is alkaline by design, but its functions are acidifying”. Hence, all metabolic processes in the body produce enormous amounts of acid, minute by minute, despite the fact that in order to function properly, both cells and tissues, need an alkaline environment; so the body will do everything possible to maintain its alkaline design and maintain pH balance.
Imbalance, or acidification, leads to various diseases and pathologies. Physical, chronic, acute diseases and other ailments are associated with excess acid in the body (dietary, metabolic and environmental).
Unbalancing factors
Whether eating healthy food or fast food, the human body generates waste or toxins. Likewise, most of the body’s cells are subject to their own metabolic process and old or dead cells are also converted into more toxins. These impurities are usually expelled through urine and sweat. However, the body cannot eliminate 100% of the waste it produces.
The acidity of the body is not only produced by the body’s own functions, there are other incident factors that hinder the acid-alkaline balance, the main reasons:
- The pace of life we lead today, in which we do not rest properly or the required amount of time and daily stress, so the body spends more time creating waste than processing and eliminating them.
- The food we eat, most of the food we consume is acidic in nature, producing an over acidification of cells, tissues, organs and finally the blood. It is important to keep in mind that when we talk about acidic food we are not referring to its taste but to how it is processed by the body. For example, cereals and meats are (mostly) acidic; fruits and vegetables, on the other hand, are alkaline. However, citrus fruits, despite having an acidic taste, contain alkaline minerals, which is why they are considered alkaline.
- The third reason, and no less affecting, is undoubtedly the environment, since exposure to pollution or contamination of the air, water and soil generates greater cell death in the body than that generated by the body’s own metabolic process. As a result, more toxins accumulate.
Consequences of acidification and toxins
If the body does not manage to eliminate the excess acid and therefore the toxins, they solidify and turn into cholesterol, fatty acid, uric acid, kidney and bladder stones, urate, among other more complex pathologies that accumulate in the organism, causing what is known as cellular aging, producing a compendium of diseases.
In this sense, the more acidification advances, the greater the consequences are also greater, resulting in dysfunctions of the thyroid, adrenal and liver glands, among others. And if the pH of the tissues becomes even more acidified, oxygen levels decrease and cell metabolism stops, resulting in cell death.
Although we have a body that tries to balance itself, removing alkaline minerals (sodium, potassium, magnesium and calcium) from the tissues to compensate the acidification, if there are few reserves or the body does not get the nutrients from what we ingest in water and food, it looks for them in other places such as the blood (sodium and potassium), bones and cartilage (calcium) or even in the muscles (magnesium), where they are also very necessary, causing deficiencies and the variety of symptoms that derive from this.
Then, if the acidity is such that the body is not able to eliminate it through urine, feces, breathing or sweating, it accumulates in several of our organs such as: the heart, pancreas, liver, colon; fatty tissue: including breasts, hips, thighs, abdomen and even the brain, constituting what we know as polyps, fluids, cysts, acid crystals, tumors, warts, lumps, masses, spots, moles, blisters.
Hence, if the proper balance is not achieved, our body collapses and leads to degenerative diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, arteriosclerosis, arthritis, osteoporosis, cancer and death.
All because of not being able to get rid of all the acid wastes that our body produces, as a consequence of:
- An acidic diet
- Metabolic acids produced as the body processes what we eat and drink into energy, and
- Environmental pollutants and free radicals
The good news is that there are tools that allow us to counteract all these diseases and prevent premature aging, regardless of age. How? Enrich the body with the necessary nutrients, through proper nutrition and fluids that allow it to alkalinize.
Alternatives to regulate pH
If these dietary changes seem too much for you, you may consider taking alkaline supplements. A study a few years ago looked at whether alkaline mineral supplements influence the symptoms of patients with chronic low back pain. The research found that patients who took alkaline supplements had their pain symptoms decreased by 49 percent and their blood pH level increased. The conclusion: an imbalanced pH level may contribute to back pain symptoms.
Food
Making small changes in our daily diet can contribute to the restoration of pH balance in the body. You can start by incorporating more fruits and vegetables, as well as gradually withdrawing foods such as cheese, soft drinks, alcohol, processed foods and sweeteners. 80% of our diet should be composed of alkaline foods, while 20% should be acidifying to maintain balance.
Studies show that most of the population consumes the opposite, 80% acidifying and 20% alkalizing. Hence, the high rates of obesity worldwide and the proliferation of diseases such as cancer.
So always keep in mind, fats and sugar in all its variations: white rice, bread, pasta, wheat, soda with highly acidic.
Alkaline Water
Taking into account that 70% of our body is composed of water, what better way to alkalize it than with water, but not just any water, I am referring to Alkaline Water, which after an extensive treatment system to purify, filter and mineralize it helps the body to dissolve toxic waste, because its molecular composition makes it easier to absorb, hydrating, nourishing, mineralizing and detoxifying it.
If Alkaline Water hydrates and nourishes the body, facilitating the elimination of toxins and preventing the accumulation of acidic wastes that are the origin of cellular aging, decreasing these wastes translates into cellular rejuvenation. Therefore, Alkaline Water gives us life in every drop.
